Reports just coming in of a completely unprovoked police attack on protesters, targetting speakers using a small sound system outside Buckingham palace. A squad of police attacked a group of people around a small sound system playing anti-Bush music, violently pushing and punching people. Police have now surrounded the system and making people wit the system pack up and leave. Could hear lots of outraged shouting "What are you doing?! This is a peaceful protest!","This is censorship" and "shame on you" - and "calm down". No official reason given... police have threatened but have made no arrests - this is just like the notorious flag-stealing incident...

Li'll Pink Tank - Poem

19.11.2003 17:21

L'il pink tank o' love,
Sent from heaven above,
Give ol' Bushie a shove,
With my l'il pink tanky o' Love!

Cardboard cruiser with a kewl skull mask
For my luv mission it's up to the task
Gotta chicky-babe gunner with a chrome helmet on
When she starts pedalin' this beast is gone!

Got a handmade, tie-dyed hippie peace flag
The fuel it costs a "nickle" a bag,
The main barrel 's made of shippin' tubes
Blastin' 88mm shots of good vibes at uptight dudes
Got machine guns made of empty bog rolls
With happy paper flowers sticking out of the holes

Trucking down the road in my peaceful pink tank
Gonna scare the hate out of that Bushitler yank
Scare him all the way back to the US of A
And we will then have, forevermore, happy daze!

My li'l pink tanky brings mental pain
To them right wing fascist nazi brains!
You'll see my pink tanky again and again
Unless it gets caught in the pouring rain...

Binoy Kampmark: Rot In The Australian Civil Service

There is no better example of Australia’s politicised public service than its Home Affairs Secretary, Mike Pezzullo. In most other countries, he would have been the ideal conspirator in a coup, a tittletattler in the ranks, and bound to brief against those he did not like. Give him a dagger, and he was bound to use it. More

Ramzy Baroud: The Palestinian Cause Belongs To The World

Once upon a time, the ‘Arab-Israeli Conflict’ was between Arabs & Israelis. Over the course of many years, however, it has been rebranded. The media is now telling us it is a ‘Hamas-Israeli Conflict.’ But what went wrong? Israel simply became too powerful. More
