On the weekend acclaimed Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya became the 13th Russian journalist to journalist to be killed in a contract-style killing since President Vladimir Putin came to power in 2000. According to her colleagues she had been due to publish an article on torture and kidnappings by pro-Moscow forces in Chechnya. Her murder of illustrates the increasing danger inherant in being a practicising journalist in many countries. Joining me to discuss the dangers of journalism is Jim Tully.
