In his report on advertising expenditure in the
2005 election funded by Parliamentary Services, the
Auditor-General helpfully supplies a decision-making
flowchart used when determining the legality of particular
pieces of advertising. While this is a very fine thing,
whether such a simple process can be so robust is a matter
of debate... I therefore propose the following, which, while
giving much the same results, more fully reflects

- Associate Justice Minister Clayton Cosgrove today
released the third and final discussion document on
proposals to prevent money laundering and terrorist
financing. "New Zealand's stable financial system makes it
attractive for international criminals to deposit funds here
and then move the money to other jurisdictions, so we must

Thomas Yadegary, an asylum seeker who has been detained
in Auckland Central Remand Prison since November 2004, is a
good illustration of just how murky and complex the realm of
asylum policy is. As such, there are rarely straightforward
solutions to the difficulties that asylum seekers present to
the nation they arrive in. There are, however, compromises

- Foreign Minister Winston Peters
today said he was disappointed by comments from Fiji's
military commander, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama, calling on
the Fiji government to "resign or else." "New Zealand is
very concerned about the Commander's threats that he will
overthrow the legitimate government in Suva if it does not

compensation to vaccine victims, the same vaccine was
exported to New Zealand and used on small kids. To say it
nice, they enlisted hundreds of thousands of small kids into
a gigantic experiment, says Jan Helge Solbakk, professor in
medical ethics. 1988 started the largest experiment ever
conducted on Norwegian population. 180,000 school teenagers
were used as test subjects in the largest Norwegian vaccine
