Media Peace Awards!
Congratulations to Joe
Barratt, AUT Graduate Diploma in Journalism student, who
won the Premier Rangatahi Award (print) in the annual
Media Peace Awards last night for his Scoop article
"High Court bypassed under new anti-terror law" on June
27:

This award is tremendous for AUT - particularly on the topic and at this time.
And congratulations also to Karen Hughes of Communication Studies who won the Premier Award for the Radio section with her "Exclusive Lives" programme, described by judges as a "stunning documentary".
We will be posting stories and pix about this later on the PMC website.
I was there last night as judge of the new Pacific Award and Joseph Peart and Jane Berney were also showing the AUT flag (Jane has had long involvement with the Peace Foundation as part of the event).
Peter Arnett will be guest speaker for the 25th anniversary of the foundation next year.
Congratulations to all our students who put in entries.
