A People's
History of Robin Hood
Paul Buhle, YES! Magazine: "We
live in something rapidly approaching a Robin Hood era. The
rich and powerful now command almost every corner of the
planet and, in order to maintain their control, threaten to
despoil every natural resource to the point of exhaustion.
Meanwhile, billions of people are impoverished below levels
of decency maintained during centuries of subsistence
living.... Yet resistance to authority, of one kind or
another, continues, and, given worsening conditions, is
likely to increase."

to the streets to protest the latest round of International
Monetary Fund-imposed austerity cuts."

Mad, Passionate
Love - and Violence: Occupy Heads Into the
Spring
Rebecca Solnit, TomDispatch: "Surely the only
possible answer to the tired question of where Occupy should
go from here (as though a few public figures got to decide)
is: everywhere. I keep being asked what Occupy should do

How North Carolina's Shock Doctrine Artists Are
Resegregating Higher Education
Danny Weil, Truthout:
"In 2010, an alliance of conservative republicans took over
the North Carolina legislature for the first time in 100
years and are now implementing legislation which can be
traced back to the American Legislative Exchange Council
(ALEC). It is no coincidence this occurred in 2010, because
this was the year the Supreme Court ruled in Citizens
United, and the Republican takeover was financed by North
Carolina multimillionaire Art Pope."

Paul Krugman |
Conservatives Twist Economic Debate
Paul Krugman,
Krugman & Co.: "Recent facts have not been kind to the
political right in the United States: a better-than-expected
jobs report; a renewed focus on inequality, driven both by
research from the Congressional Budget Office and by the
gift of Mitt Romney's candidacy. What to do? The answer is
to throw a bunch of bogus numbers at the issues, in the hope
that something sticks, or at least that the discussion
becomes confused."

Dean Baker | What
if the Next Steve Jobs Is Chinese?
Dean Baker,
Truthout: "As Apple's stock continues to hit record highs
and its sales and profit reports exceed all expectations,
