Privacy Bill Progresses

The Privacy (Information Sharing) Bill made in progress in Parliament today with Labour taking the opportunity to relitigate recent high profile breaches of privacy law.

While Labour supported the Bill it did use the debate to attack the Government over a number of privacy gaffes.

Trevor Mallard took some time to raise issues about privacy breaches by ACC, the Ministry of Social Development and elsewhere.

The Privacy (Information Sharing) Bill completed its committee stage by 106 to 15 with Greens and Mana opposing.

MPs began the committee stage of the International Finance Agreements Amendment Bill.
