The Lessons Of Pike River
Parliament will debate changes to health and safety legislation following the deaths of 29 men in the Pike River Coal Mine.
Following Question Time, MPs are due to return to interrupted second reading of the Taxation (Livestock Valuation, Assets Expenditure, and Remedial Matters) Bill with just one speech remaining.
This will be followed by the first reading of the Health and Safety (Pike River Implementation) Bill, which implements changes to legislation following the Pike River Coal Mine tragedy and the subsequent recommendations of the Royal Commission of Inquiry.
Following this MPs are due to hold the second
reading debate on Psychoactive Substance Bill, which is
also now under the guidance of a new minister Todd
McClay.
