United Future Re-Recognised

United Future with Peter Dunne as its leader is once again recognised as a party in Parliament.

When Parliament resumed at 2pm Speaker David Carter told MPs the Electoral Commission had recognised United Future as a registered party and the party had not ceased to exist when it was cancelled for a lack of proof about member numbers.

Because of this from today United Future would be recognised as a party for parliamentary purpose.

A petition was presented from Mandy Carter on behalf of SAFE and Humane Society International asking the House note that 15,651 people have supported petitions calling on the Government to put in place a ban on cosmetic animal testing and ban the sale of new cosmetics that have been tested on animals and the House support this request.

The Electoral Commission, Te Kaitiaki Take Kōwhiri, Ikaroa-Rāwhiti By-Election 2013, Enrolment and Voting Statistics (E.9) were tabled.
