Labour ICT Document In Accidental Email

Labour ICT Document In Accidental Email

A planning document on the Labour Party's ICT policy has been released after a copy was sent to National MP and Communications and Information Technology Minister Amy Adams.

Labour Associate Communications and IT Spokesperson Clare Curran has now circulated the document (in an email headed mistake but at least it shows we have ideas) with this note:

This morning this attached document (written by me) was mistakenly sent to Amy Adams Office.
It is a set of ideas. It has no status as Labour policy.
I am happy to take calls after question time

The text of the document is copied below.

Appropriate copyright regime
NZ access to geoblocked content

Monopoly
Platform infrastructure competition is wasteful and anti-competitive. It needs to be open access, regulated for maximum competition and run as a single platform monopolyResources are conserved, overbuild is discouraged and investment is rationalised.

Investment risk is shared and innovation is not fragmented. Competition focuses on services not access
