Business Statement

Priority will be given to a number of first readings when Parliament sits next week.

Leader of the House Gerry Brownlee said in the Business Statement among the bills to be progressed would be the Māori Purposes Bill and the Child Protection (Child Sex Offender Register) Bill.

The House would sit on Thursday morning next week to deal with a number of motions making appointments to a number of agencies including the Ombudsman’s Office and the Auditor-General.

Select committee reports were presented on the :
Drug and Alcohol Testing of Community-based Offenders and Bailees Legislation Bill by the Law and Order Committee,

Report from the Controller and Auditor-General, Whānau Ora: The first four years by the Social Services Committee.

MPs began Question Time.
