SCOOP ADVISORY: New Advanced Search Tools In Scoop Gold

The most sophisticated freely available database of New Zealand news online has passed another key development point. The interface - developed by Scoop's Andrew McNaughton as part of his Newsagent software system - incorporates a new user friendly panel on the left and very powerful search tools enabling word searches on parts of the database. E.G. You can now select Scoop-Editorials (dating back to 1997) and then search for specific words e.g. Kevin Roberts, Health, Jenny Shipley, Dinner, Iraq - alternatively. If you want Alliance releases mentioning Winston Peters you have them. ACT releases on Christine Fletcher, you've got them.

Y2K Commission Warns On Possible Disruptions

PM On Parade

- The Prime Minister Jenny Shipley has arrived in South Korea for a three-day visit. Jenny Shipley is due to hold a summit with President Kim Dae-Jung tomorrow focussing on plans for the APEC meeting in Auckland later this year. Mrs Shipley arrived in Seoul from China, where she President Jiang Zemin's accepted an invitation to the APEC summit. During her talks in Beijing, Shipley offered Auckland as a "neutral venue" for Jiang and US President Bill Clinton to discuss the deteriorating relationship between China and the United States.

The Regulation Discussion

- Energy Minister Max Bradford has held brief discussions with New Zealand First deputy leader Peter Brown following the party's caucus decision to offer conditional support for the bill to regulate Electricity lines companies. The Minister is now waiting for a written proposal outlining on what terms NZ First want.Winston Peters has been reported as saying an immediate inquiry into power price structures would be enough to get his party's support.
