The references – in case they are not obvious – are to the use of the English Rugby team’s unoffical theme song “Swing Low Sweet Chariot” which is to be sung – officially - by the crowd at Twickenham (but not led by a singer) after some debate.
Further Background: A CD has been released recently by a group known as the “unofficial World Cup rugby supporters” which takes a light hearted (and coarse) view of English rugby supporters, their team and their unofficial theme song.
