CHECHNYA: Russia’s acting President Vladimir Putin will allow an aid group into Chechnya says EU President Finland. About 20,000 civilians are believed to be still inside the Chechn capital Grozny.

HASTINGS STABBING: A 30-year-old woman will appear in court in Hastings today charged with stabbing a man.

TRIPLETS: A 54-year-old woman in Washington state has given birth to triplets.

WOMAN WITH LOTS OF ANCESTORS DIES: A woman who knew the names of all her 315 direct descendants has died aged 101 in Florida. She had 10 children and 68 grand-children and was born in Columbia.
