Austria’s Government – Albright Meets Putin In Moscow – Electricity – Cocaine Bust – Lockerbie Trial – ABBA

AUSTRIA: More than 15,000 people have been protesting in Austria against the prospect of a far-right party joining the governing coalition. International Pressure is also rising against the Freedom Party being allowed in the coalition.

MOSCOW: Madeleine Albright has finished her visit to Russia with a long meeting with Vladimir Putin. Albright says she found Putin a “well informed” person. “He struck me as a problem solver”.

ELECTRICITY: Former Labour Minister David Caygill was today named as the head of an inquiry into the electricity sector. Mr Caygill will head a team which will travel widely overseas.

COCAINE BUST: National Crime Manager for the police says further arrests are likely following the massive cocaine haul.

LOCKERBIE: Two Libyan men have plead not guilty to charges that they blew up a Pan Am flight over Scotland killing more than 200. Discussions on how to conduct the trial continue.

ABBA: Abba have turned down an offer of over $1 billion to reform for a concert tour.
