AMERICAS CUP: Prada all at sea. A black day for Prada - a crewman injured when hit on the head with a rod being used to clean the keel. Absolute shocker for Prada, race only going for six minutes before a crewman injured. Should they stop to clear their keel. Prada gave up on trying to clear their keel. Prada was badly behind after the first mark. Team NZ not satisfied in spite of their win. Sympathy from the shore watchers. At the end Team NZ wins by two minutes and 43 seconds. NZers had a very good start taking the lead and picking the favoured side of the course. Italians put pressure on themselves. Their will be lots of heartache over the attempt to clear the keel for Prada. Deep thinking tonight.

DICK SMITH BALLOONIST: Kaitaia launch for Dick Smith balloonist. At dawn the forecast was perfect for the Tasman crossing. Smith will use the trip to promote a new range of food products. Smith is expected to have to make a sea landing on the other side of the ditch.

LIGHT PLANE CLOSE CALL: Pilot un-hurt as a Piper Cherokee plane's nose wheel collapses on landing at Christchurch airport.

INCIS: Government announced a major component of the INCIS programme will be sold - a $7 million mainframe computer. Trevor Mallard says he thinks NZ was lucky the project failed because otherwise we would have a very expensive white elephant. Police Association says it warned the government. Mallard says a potential buyer for the computer has been identified.

KOSOVO: More violent scenes in Mitrovica where an Albanian protest tried to cross a bridge to the Serbian part of the city. Serbs watched and jeered as Albanians as they tried to cross the bridge. Tear gas used to stop the protestors. Wave after wave braved the gas.

AVALANCHES: Six people have died in two avalanches in Europe.

MILLIONAIRE SHOCKER: American millionaire Rick Rockwell who married on a TV game show has been accused by an ex-girlfriend of being a woman beater. In 1991 Rockwell was ordered to stay away from a woman. Producers of the TV show did not know. Rockwell has returned from his Carribean honeymoon without his new bride.
