TODDLER DEATH SENTENCE: The family of a 3-year-old New Plymouth girl who died in an accident are pleased with the sentence of the driver of the police car that hit her. David Craig was given 200 hours community service, a $3500 fine and disqualified for two years. Craig's lawyer says he began a life sentence the day he killed the little girl. Craig has offered his life's savings to the greiving parents. Family are happy with the sentence.

An associate of Tamihere has been convicted of stealing $56,000 of lotteries money on petrol and clothes. The PM says her MP should not be tainted by the conviction of a friend. Tamihere gave the accused a character reference in court. The ACT leader is maintaining his call for an inquiry into what happened at Te Waipareira Trust.
