Crime Stats – Zimbabwe – Cannabis Tests – START II – Hacker Arrested – Chocolate and Pets

CRIME STATS: Crime statistics show a marked drop in crime since 1998 including a drop in sexual violence offences.

ZIMBABWE: The PM believes that pressure from commonwealth countries will succeed in stopping the violence in Zimbabwe. Helen Clark has been meeting with UK officials. Meanwhile President Mugabe says that talks with the veterans have concluded with a plan to end the violence.

CANNABIS TESTS: Warning given that police will not get a representative sample from cannabis tests planned on blood samples given by drivers. The tests will not identify the individuals involved say police.

START II:Russia’s upper house of Parliament the Federation Council has ratified the START II arms reduction treaty.

HACKER ARRESTED: Canadian police have confirmed the arrest of a 15-year-old boy for a hacking distributed service attack on CNN.

CHOCOLATE AND PETS: There is a warning from the Australian Vet association that pets cannot eat chocalate because they can’t handle one of the ingredients.
