EAST TIMOR DEATH: The NZ Soldier killed in a road accident in East Timor yesterday was due home next month. Three NZers were also injured in the accident when the vehicle went off a bluff.
TURKEY: The PM says Turkey has huge potential as a trading partner for New Zealand. The world’s 16th largest economy Turkey will be the second largest country in the EU when it joins.
ZIMBABWE: The opposition Movement for Democratic Change in Zimbabwe says two party activists have been murdered in the last 24 hours. Another was killed on Friday. A memorial service has been held in Harare for murdered farmer David Stevens.
FAST FERRY: Tranzrail passengers were forced to sleep in the Picton Ferry Terminal overnight after swells of 4.5 metres led to the cancellation of fast ferry crossings.
