FIJI COUP: Uncertainty in Fiji over where the Great Council of Chiefs will meet on Thursday to appoint a new President and Government. The Military wants the meeting at the Queen Elizabeth barracks. Speight wants the meeting at the Parliamentary complex.

NURSING CRISIS: Nurses leaving for Britain to be paid twice as much. National says that Annette King says nothing has been done to fix the problem. Annette King denies it is her fault.

CANCER INQUIRY: The Cancer Inquiry has heard Dr Bottrill’s service was thought to be good.

OLYMPIC JOBS: WINZ has been asked to find people experienced in hospitality to work in Sydney for the Olympics.

DRUG SMUGGLING TRIAL: A NZ self employed builder has appeared in court inPeru on charges of drug smuggling. He has been remanded for trial but may wait a year for the trial to be held.
