SFO AND MAGNUM TRANSACTION: The NZ First Leader Winston Peters says a refusal by the Director of the SFO to supply a legal opinion on the Magnum Transaction is a serious affront to a Parliamentary Select Committee. SFO Director David Bradshaw has threatened to resign if he is forced to hand over the legal opinion.
ASBESTOS: One of the researchers behind a study of asbestos says that the problem is a forgotten problem. The researchers say up to 10,000 people will end up with cancer over the next 40 years.
WAITANGI: Dover Samuels MP says the country should rise above bad feelings about Waitangi Day celebrations. Samuels says the organisers at Waitangi hope that one day everyone will be able to celebrate the birthplace of NZ together.
ISRAEL: Fresh violence has erupted on the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The new surge of violence is another setback to peace after Yasser Arafat called Madeleine Albright saying he wanted to resume peace talks.

PETROL PRICES: Challenge Petrol has joined the four major oil companies and has raised the price of petrol and diesel. Challenge says it was left with no choice.
TEACHER ON SEX CHARGES: The Minister of Education says that a school that employed a teacher charged with sexual offences is receiving all the support it needs.
ALL BLACKS: The All Blacks have made four changes to the line-up to play Italy.
