The Dominion

RACE RELATIONS: The Dominion leads this morning with a report that Maori Affairs Minister Tau Henare accused Race Relations Conciliator Rajen Prasad yesterday of "undermining" Maoris by promoting multi-culturalism.

WINDFARM: The front-page photo shows a new windfarm in the Tararua Ranges which was opened yesterday.

Also on the front page:

- POSSUM IMPORTS: a report that a New Zealand company making a fine fabric from a blend of possum fur and merino wool has asked agricultural officials to improve "coals-to-newscastle" imports of the fur from Tasmania;

- RESHUFFLE: a report that Prime Minister Jenny Shipley has given her Cabinet a final pre-election tune-up, moving Bill English into the finance driver's seat and putting the external relations roles into overdrive;

- FALSE ALARM: a report that Wellington Police were called to a central-city building last night after a woman heard a woman calling "no, no, stop it, get away from me". They found a self-defence class underway;

- RAPE AND THEFT: a report that a Wellington woman who was dragged off a city street and raped by two men at knifepoint has had hundreds of dollars withdrawn from her account using a bank card stolen in the attack.

Inside Politics:

- RESHUFFLE: Treasurer expects tough talk
- POLL SHOCK: TV Polls give conflicting results
- PRIVACY: Database sales under scrutiny from privacy commission
- RNZ: National Radio staff wait for news on National Radio

The editorial argues in favour of the Race Relations Conciliator maintaining his independence.
