Militias make way for equally dangerous life (9/11/99) Irish Times The atmosphere in Dili has become so relaxed these days that some journalists and soldiers from the International Force in East Timor (Interfet) decided to go for a swim on White Sands beach just outside town, and discovered that there are forms of life just as dangerous as the armed militiaman, which for now seems to be an extinct species.
