CAUCUS: National, ACT and Labour have gathered for their first post election caucus.

ENGAGEMENT: In her first official engagement as PM Elect Helen Clark has promised to try and cut levels of smoking, particularly among Maori.

HARVEY: Helen Clark has told Party President Bob Harvey she has confidence in him if he keeps his clothes on after he exposed himself in public a month ago.

DRINKING: The drinking age drops to 18 tomorrow and beer and wine can be bought in supermarkets and on Sundays as well.

FARMERS: 200 hectares of crops and pasture in the Manawatu remain flooded after torrential rain over the last few days. Most land has drained.

COUNCIL: An Auckland City Councillor says the ruling that 16 asylum seekers should be released from prison came just in time for the strikers who were becoming very ill.

CENTREPOINT: Convicted paedophile Bert Potter is before the parole board today after it was alleged he has broken his parole conditions for the second time.

O’REGAN: Sir Tipene O’Regan says he needs a break after working for Ngai Tahu for 31 years and has stepped down as his work is done.

POWER SHARING: A power sharing accord has been formed in Northern Ireland.
