MAORI: The Dominion leads today with a report that Dover Samuels, who is set to become Maori Affairs Minister, wants Maori language taught in primary schools to break down cultural barriers.

An accompanying report says thousands of protesters fought running battles with police in Seattle yesterday, throwing the start of global trade talks into disarray and prompting worried city officials to declare a civil emergency and call in the National Guard.
