Regret at O’Regan decision to step down

National Party Leader Jenny Shipley today accepted with regret Katherine O’Regan’s decision to step down from politics and be taken off the party list.

Mrs Shipley and National Party President John Slater are taking the appropriate steps to remove Mrs O’Regan from the list.

“Katherine has been a wonderful, loyal member of the National Party and a very effective Member of Parliament for 15 years.

“I am sorry that she has decided to take this step but completely understand that she and her husband Michael Cox are enjoying her new-found freedom.

“Katherine is a person of many talents with many opportunities in front of her and I have wished her well for the future,” says Mrs Shipley.
