Thursday, 18 May 2000, 5:36 pm Press Release: Green Party
The Green Party congratulates the Government for its $5
million boost to New Zealand-focussed television programmes
and especially children's television.
"This is a great
first step in the right direction," Sue Kedgley said, who
has been advocating for such a move.
"However, if we were
to begin to meet the content quotas outlined by the Screen
Producers and Directors Association, the Government would
need to double its investment to approximately $10 million
per year," she said.
