welcomed
Opposition Leader Jenny Shipley today warmly welcomed the announcement of Dame Silvia Cartwright as New Zealand's next Governor-General.
"Dame Silvia is a gifted New Zealander who has contributed a lot to the country and will contribute more in this role.
"I have worked closely with Dame Silvia and New Zealanders can be confident she will do a good job," Mrs Shipley said.
