GE Protestors March To Wellington Ends Tomorrow

The Palmer-Hesketh family who are walking from Christchurch to Wellington in support of a GE-free Aotearoa will arrive at Parliament tomorrow.

Karen and Fraser Palmer-Hesketh and their children Ajala (four) and Maitreya (one) will arrive at Wellington's Inter-Island Ferry Terminal at 8.30am tomorrow morning (Thursday).

A band will be playing at the ferry to welcome them to Wellington.

The family left from Christchurch on August 10 and will have walked 400 kilometres by the time they arrive in Wellington.

Green Party MPs Jeanette Fitzsimons, Sue Kedgley and Rod Donald will be meeting the family off the ferry and walking with them to parliament for a reception on the steps.

The family will be coming to an organic lunch in the Green Party caucus room at 12pm.

Media are welcome to come along to anything they want.
