Concerned kiwis flock to London meeting

One hundred and forty New Zealanders flocked to a meeting last night in London (UK time) hosted by National Leader Jenny Shipley and Burton Shipley to talk about a better future for New Zealand.

"They want to come home to New Zealand to live, not just to holiday, and they want a future Government that will give them a vibrant New Zealand to come home to," Mrs Shipley said from London today.

Mrs Shipley invited London-based New Zealanders to an evening at New Zealand House to update them on political events back home and discuss ideas about how New Zealand and its economy can get back on track.

"These young people want policies put together that will encourage them to return, policies that will mean their skills are valued, that allow their incomes to rise over time and that result in lower tax rates over time.

"They want to feel optimistic about New Zealand and they want to see National put the country on a strong footing again. Their ideas and enthusiasm inspired me even more to bury the Labour Party so that we can implement strong policies to take the country forward," Mrs Shipley said.
