Press Release: New Zealand Government
13 December 2001
Acting Prime Minister Jim Anderton says

Commission sets MPs’ salaries.

with any other method of setting MPs’ salaries either.
“I

determination is appropriate. We have an independent system
of pay fixing, and it should remain independent,” Jim
Anderton
said.
