ACT Calls On Dunne To Stick With Principles

It's astonishing how quickly Peter Dunne has backed away from his party's policy to cut the size of the Government's executive - now he senses an opportunity to gain a Cabinet post, ACT acting leader Ken Shirley says.

"United Future's website clearly states the party's policy is to reduce the size of the executive to 18 and cut the number of ministerial portfolios. This is a policy the ACT Party also supports, although we would go further.

"Now, Mr Dunne is distancing himself from this policy as he continues talks with Labour about supporting its minority coalition government.

"I call on Mr Dunne to stick to the principles he campaigned on, rather than selling out at the first whiff of a Ministerial office and an LTD," Mr Shirley said.
