"BIZZARE" POLITICAL UNION ARRANGED
“The alliance of Labour and United Future is a genetically engineered political wedding of Frankenstein proportions, said New Zealand First Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters.
“This marriage, if consummated, will produce some frightening offspring but the presence of Jim Anderton means this political family will have its own pet poodle to play with.
”The whole scene is rather ridiculous and must make Helen Clark wish she had never called an early election. Nonetheless, in the interests of political stability we hope that the Prime Minister can manage this new arrangement,” Mr Peters said.
Mr Peters expressed some sympathy for the Greens who had been shut out for sticking to their principles and hoped that the parties to the new agreement would be able to adhere to their principles, or even discover what they are.
