Brash Welcomes New Reserve Bank
Governor
"I wish Alan Bollard all the best in his new role
as Reserve Bank Governor," says National's Finance spokesman
Don Brash.
Dr Brash, commenting on the appointment today,
says Dr Bollard is an experienced and competent economist
who will handle the role well.
"I - along with many others
in the financial community - will be watching with interest
what the final outcome of the negotiations over the new
Policy Targets Agreement are.
"National is adamant that
any relaxation in the inflationary band will only be a
cosmetic change and do nothing to address the long-term
growth prospects of New Zealand's economy," Dr Brash
added.
