Labour Portfolio Briefing Paper Released
Minister of Labour Margaret Wilson today released the departmental briefing to the incoming government.
“The paper provides a useful overview of the department’s work in the areas of employment relations and workplace health and safety. It correctly identifies the challenge of developing a more productive and innovative economy while protecting the most vulnerable in society.”
“The Government has already indicated it wishes to continue the process of remodelling legislative frameworks with the aim of increasing productivity by enhancing workplace relationships and raising employment standards,” Margaret Wilson said.
The briefing paper will be posted on the government website today at about 2pm: www.beehive.govt.nz/briefings/socialpolicy/labour
