Imitation Sincerest Form Of Flattery

Imitation Sincerest Form Of Flattery

“Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery,” New Zealand First leader Rt Hon Winston Peters said today after Labour Minister Margaret Wilson announced she will set up a working party to look into local committees controlling shop trading hours.

“Strange that. When I moved to amend her legislation last year on Sunday trading to do what she now supports, she opposed it,” said Mr Peters.

“My bill has been in the ballot since 25 February 1999. When in Government I wrote to every MP seeking leave to introduce my bill thereby avoiding the ballot,” said Mr Peters

“She should stop playing at silly politics.

“Ms Wilson has been opposed to any changes in the legislation and consulting the public in any way. She has certainly had a big turn-around to my point of view and I welcome her long overdue change of attitude,” said Mr Peters.
