Salvation Is Nigh

Rural New Zealand can now breathe a huge sigh of relief at news the Greens have appointed a Sustainable Primary Production Co-ordinator, ACT New Zealand Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Spokesman Gerry Eckhoff said today.

"Rural dwellers will almost certainly be delighted at the news that Charlotte Squire - and the Greens - will expose their farming operations as unsustainable and lead them to promised, sustainable, land.

"A land where science is prohibited, where painted apple moths enjoy the fruits of others' labour, where 30 percent production drops are acceptable and overseas trade has become irrelevant, and where cultural and environmental issues dominate the `think tanks'.

"As for genetic modification - I hate to break this news to Ms Squire, but she shares 50 percent of her genes with a banana, and around 95 percent with a cow. It matters not, however - we can all go out and enjoy a good Morris dance to celebrate the end of sustainability, as we know it," said Mr Eckhoff.
