United weeks behind on rotting homes

National Housing Spokesperson Dr Wayne Mapp says he is pleased United Future has finally grasped the rotting homes issue and called for the resignation of Bill Porteous.

“The problem is Murray Smith is about six weeks too late. National has been calling for Bill Porteous and George Hawkins to resign for weeks.

“Wake up Murray, the points you make are way behind the eight ball,” Dr Mapp said.

Dr Mapp said he looked forward to questioning George Hawkins at the Government Administration select committee tomorrow. “I am amazed that this man is still the Minister but of course, in an acknowledgement that he is handling the rotting homes crisis so badly, Labour has taken the responsibility from him, ” Dr Mapp said.
