ACC Inquiry

ACC Inquiry

New Zealand First MP Peter Brown said he is disappointed that the Transport and Industrial Relations Select Committee is unable to undertake an inquiry into ACC in the immediate future due to a heavy workload.

Mr Brown said he was however quite happy for another committee to undertake the inquiry if it meant that it would take place sooner.

“I wrote to the committee some time ago asking for an inquiry into ACC and I am determined to have that commitment fulfilled albeit by another select committee. I understand that the Social Services select Committee has a relatively light workload and currently efforts are being made for this committee to take on an inquiry into ACC.

“New Zealand First will be pursuing this with the utmost vigour as we are determined to have this organisation investigated.

“We are also seeking a briefing from the Auditor General on his office’s inquiry into ACC operations.

“One way or the other we are going to address the ACC issue,” said Mr Brown.
