Burglary closes Leys Institute Library

Burglary closes Leys Institute Library

Four computers were stolen during a burglary at the Leys Institute Library in Ponsonby last night forcing the library to close its doors for the day.

The computers were used for the issuing and return of library items.

Temporary computers have been found to replace those stolen and the library will re-open on Friday, 17 January 2003.

The police are continuing their investigation of the burglary.

Auckland City Libraries’ customer service’s manager Paul McAleer says the library will open for business as usual on Friday. Any library items due for return on Thursday will not incur any overdue penalties if returned on Friday.

“I would like to thank all our customers for their understanding and apologise for any inconvenience today’s closure may have caused.”

The Leys Institute Library is located at 20 St Mary’s Bay Road, Ponsonby.
