Green MP Metiria Turei will attend the Ratana Festival on Friday, January 2. The festival is held at Ratana Pa, 20kms south of Wanganui.
The Ratana Festival celebrates The Ratana movement, founded in 1924, and the Ratana Youth movement, one of the oldest organised Maori youth movements in New Zealand.
Metiria is the Green Party spokesperson for Maori Affairs, Ethnic Affairs, Pacific Island Affairs and Education.
