Death With Dignity Bill To Be Debated

New Zealand First MP Peter Brown will get the opportunity to debate his private members ‘Death with Dignity’ Bill in the House within the next month after it was selected in the ballot.
Mr Brown, who lost two relatives after drawn out illnesses, is a long time campaigner for voluntary euthanasia for the terminally ill.

He is pleased to have the chance to debate the issue in the House.

“Speaking from personal experience, I believe that if voluntary euthanasia legislation was in place it would remove a lot of stress for the terminally ill. If they knew they had the right to exit this world with dignity many would be able to cope more readily with their situation,” said Mr Brown

The ‘Death with Dignity’ Bill will hopefully come before the House for its First Reading at the end of March.
