Starship Argument Futile Says Nz First

New Zealand First Health spokesperson Pita Paraone says he is astounded at the amount of time, effort and money being wasted over changing the name of Auckland’s Starship Hospital.

Mr Paraone said today that he could not understand why anyone wanted to change the name of the hospital, which had now been totally accepted throughout the community.

“This public debate over Starship Hospital has been generated by bureaucrats who should be concentrating on the health issues facing New Zealand’s bigest city.

“Is this name change going to reduce the Auckland District Health Board deficit? Will it mean better use of health resources in Auckland?

“Instead of arguing about hospital names, board members sould get on with the job they are paid for. Why try to fix something that is not broken?” said Mr Paraone.
