Playgrounds Safe from Scaremongering

ACT New Zealand Health Spokesman Heather Roy today welcomed with relief the ERMA review that finds playgrounds are safe.

Mrs Roy, who threatened to tear down "toxic hazard" signs erected by the Green Party in playgrounds, greeted the ERMA report as "a victory for commonsense".

"The Greens try to prohibit everything enjoyable. It is just plain low to stoop to scaremongering tactics to upset parents in public playgrounds.

"No amount of high-quality scientific evidence showing our playgrounds are safe will ever please the Green Party.

"Life is a dangerous business. However, if we use our commonsense, we do not need to eliminate fun," Mrs Roy said.
