Newman Sets The Record Straight

ACT New Zealand Police Spokesman Dr Muriel Newman has set the record straight on ACT's call for more sworn police officers, in light of Police Minister George Hawkins' attack in Parliament today.

"In a letter to Prime Minister Helen Clark, expressing my serious concerns about Mr Hawkins' management of the Police portfolio, there was an editing error in the comment on how New Zealand is one of the most under-policed countries in the developed world.

"The full text of my letter to the Prime Minister is attached," Dr Newman said.
