Helen Clark's positive statement on four weeks leave

"I warmly welcome my colleague Helen Clark's positive endorsement of the Progressives’ private Members Bill for four weeks minimum annual leave,” said deputy leader Matt Robson MP, commenting on her speech to the CTU conference today.

"This family friendly policy has the support of a majority of parties in Parliament and huge support in the community.

"I look forward to being able to announce the agreed timetable for enacting this much needed reform for some of the lowest income families in New Zealand.”

The Progressive Party believes that four weeks annual leave is a critical financial issue in the battle to keep low income families in the productive workforce contributing to New Zealand's economic development.

"The financial cost of balancing work and family responsibilities is too high or on the margin of being unaffordable for many low income two parent families. Four weeks leave is long overdue for this part of the productive workforce and I look forward to continued Labour, Green and NZ First support on this issue," Matt Robson said.
