Adams scorns Government’s sex drive

United Future commerce spokesman Paul Adams MP today poured scorn on the Government’s “pathetic” attempt to show it was in touch with small business by visiting a Wellington sex shop proprietor.

“If Government needs to go to the sex industry to make love to small businesses, it shows how far out of touch they are with the reality that small businesses face in this country,” he said.

“The sight of Environment Minister Marian Hobbs cavorting around in fur-lined handcuffs for the sake of a cheap publicity stunt will do nothing to bring confidence to the vast majority of New Zealand’s small business owners.

“Small business in this country wants lower taxes, more flexible employment laws and fewer bureaucratic hurdles to surmount, not the sight of a Cabinet Minister engaging in smutty stunts that do nothing to help the economic development of New Zealand,” said Mr Adams.
