Yet another flip flop for National

Don Brash has clearly been taking gymnastic lessons given his latest flip flop on four weeks annual leave, Acting Labour Minister Ruth Dyson said today.

“This is unbelievable. He has been so vehemently opposed to this policy. Mind you, it is par for the course given that he now supports the Employment Relations Act after predicting it would be the downfall of New Zealand as we know it."

"National's position on four weeks annual leave has always been ridiculous. Australia has had four weeks leave for 30 years but Don Brash has ignored this, while at the same time wondering why some New Zealanders head to Australia for better terms and conditions."

Ruth Dyson said Don Brash had missed the whole point of the Holidays Act by saying that workers should be able to cash in their leave.

"One of the objectives of the Holidays Act is to provide the opportunity for rest and recreation. Cashing up entitlements is a failed National policy of the 1990's – Max Bradford never succeeded with it and neither will Don Brash.

"No one can take Don Brash and his party seriously with yet another u-turn – what policy will be gone by lunchtime next?"
