ACT’s bizarre behaviour bewilders Alexander
United Future law and order spokesman Marc Alexander today expressed bewilderment when ACT's Stephen Franks suggested that United Future only voted for the Films, Videos and Publications Classification Amendment Bill because they were somehow "duped" into it by Labour.
"We voted for the bill because it toughened up the penalties for the possession and trade of child pornography," said Mr Alexander. "Quite straightforward really".
"Actually, the only confusing aspect of all this is the fact that ACT were the only party in Parliament to vote against the bill. Now why would a party that claims to have zero tolerance for crime vote against a measure for fighting child porn?"
"It's a mystery," he concluded.
