ACT Party Stable: Yeah Right!

PETER BROWN MP
DEPUTY LEADER

Media Release

31 August 2005

ACT Party Stable: Yeah Right!

“Despite its record over nine years in Parliament, the Act party is now surprisingly declaring itself stable,” says New Zealand First’s deputy leader Peter Brown.

“In that time it has dispensed with both its leader and its deputy.

“It has one MP in prison.

“It had another who has been found guilty of a breach of privilege.

“A third was apparently chased from a pub, across Parliament’s grounds, by a business leader.

“Its current leader supported and defended a ‘man boy love association’ paedophile supporter who took a trip away from New Zealand and has been prohibited from returning.

“Further, it has been totally disowned by its only potential coalition partner.

“I can best conclude that when Act describes itself as stable it means it is a home for horses – and this one’s clearly bolted,” concluded Mr Brown.
