Helen Clark and Winston
Peters meet
Prime Minister Helen Clark said today that
she and Michael Cullen had met with Winston Peters and his
deputy Peter Brown this morning and that the meeting was
very constructive.
"New Zealand First is a critical part
of the arrangements that need to be put in place to ensure
stability over the full three year term of this Parliament.
Talks are continuing over whether an agreement which
includes a positive confidence and supply vote can be
achieved," Helen Clark said.
"New Zealand First has
consistently taken the position that stability in government
is its highest priority and we are exploring the best way
for this to be
achieved."
